Company History

Pikaia was founded by Michael Bennett who has brought together a team of talented, skilled and innovative developers that have previously worked with him on the implementation of a number of on line businesses and Internet Service Providers. This team began working together in 1999 with the construction and implementation of a regional ISP in New Zealand. By 2004 this team had been instrumental in the implementation of a number of web hosting infrastructures and the development of on line applications ranging from site content management systems, through e-commerce, credit card processing, bank interfaces, domain registration systems to a full ISP provisioning and billing system.

This is the team that won the IDG Technology Innovator of the Year in 2002 for the design and development of Ocoloco, an automated platform that enables organisations to manage web assets in hosting and portal environments.

Michael recognised the unique abilities in this team and the value they can add to any project. With the value and expertise of this team in mind he has formed Pikaia to allow other businesses and organisations to tap into this expertise.
